Removing Large Holly Trees and Building a Boulder Retaining Wall

At Garden Pruning Productions, we specialize in creating durable and visually stunning landscapes. In this project, we removed overgrown holly trees and installed a natural boulder retaining wall, enhancing both functionality and aesthetics. Here’s how we did it:  

Digging the Boulder Bed  

We started by excavating the foundation for the boulders, ensuring a stable base for the retaining wall. This step was crucial for long-term durability and proper drainage.

Removing Stumps  

After cutting down the holly trees, we carefully extracted their stumps to prevent regrowth and allow for a smooth construction process.

Filling the Dumpster with Stumps  

Efficient cleanup was key to keeping the site organized. We loaded the uprooted stumps into a dumpster, making space for the next phase.

Loading Stumps  

Using heavy equipment, we transported the stumps off-site for responsible disposal, ensuring an environmentally friendly approach.

Preparing the Boulder Bed  

With a clear work area, we compacted and graded the base to provide a strong foundation for the boulders. Proper preparation prevents shifting and ensures long-term stability.

Ready to Place Boulders  

Once the bed was ready, we made final adjustments to ensure the boulders would be placed securely and evenly.

Carefully selected boulders arrived on-site, chosen for their size, shape, and natural beauty to create a seamless retaining wall.
